Made entirely from paint my students threw away — dried skins peeled off abandoned palettes, pounds of color hardened and discarded before it ever reached a canvas. Nothing new was bought for this work.

The waste is pressed, layered and built back into relief until it becomes the thing it depicts: a flood. Debris caught in a current. Acid greens and cadmium oranges crest along the top edge, a bleached channel cuts through the center, and deep teals pool in the lower right where the water settles and stays.

From the Consumed series. We take more than we need and call the remainder someone else's problem.
